1/28 Texas Birding Day 7b Falcon Parks

Paul and Fran Bauer and Lois and I traveled to the Lower Rio Grande Valley the end of January
to see many birds that I have never seen. We returned along the gulf though lower Louisiana.

Day 7b 2010-01-28: Falcon County Park and Falcon State Park • Lower Rio Grande Valley Texas

Falcon County Park
We stopped at Falcon County Park first and soon found the Pyrrhuloxia around a thicket in the middle of the campground.

Falcon State Park
As Paul and I were shootin' the Vermilion Flycatcher Lois was trying to signal us by doing a Roadrunner imitation dance back on the road. Took a few moments to realize what she meant, there's a Roadrunner over there, actually two of them! The Kite and Caracara were seen along route 2098 heading SE back to hwy 83.
