Paul and I were leaving Riverlands at 2:30 heading to Columbia Bottom CA and stopped at the restrooms just down from Heron Pond. As we were getting back into the cars I noticed a big lump on a sign by Heron pond. We both glassed it and Paul thought it might be an owl. There it was, a SHORT-EARED OWL sitting on the sign with his name on it. Told him to go buy a lottery ticket.

Was viewing two American Black Ducks in Ellis Bay when I got a call about a Merlin not far away being harassed by a Kestrel. Also found a family group of Greater Yellowlegs at the pipeline pool in Confluence State Park.

I'm just an amateur that loves to capture the beauty around us. Nothing escapes me, be it bugs, animals, especially birds, landscapes, sunsets, infrared or macros, if it’s moving or not. After retiring from the Aerospace industry after 40 years I've been able to concentrate on birding and photographing them.
Please feel free to browse my many galleries.
