Day 11 2010-02-01: Aransas National Wildlife Refuge • Lower Rio Grande Valley Texas

With the morning free I just had to check out if the Whoopers where still at Lamar Beach Rd between 8th and 4th streets just south of Aransas NWR. The tide was up, no Whoopers, but there were a few birds still there.

Aransas National Wildlife Refuge • Weather: rain/drizzle, very hazy, yuk! We boarded the "Skimmer" at about one in the afternoon and proceeded on a 30-45 minute ride up to the Aransas NWR. Not a good day for photography. Cold, drizzle, spray, breeze, haze most of trip. We spent about 3 hours in the area before heading back to the harbor.
