2/03 Texas Birding Day 13 Lower East Texas

Paul and Fran Bauer and Lois and I traveled to the Lower Rio Grande Valley the end of January
to see many birds that I have never seen. We returned along the gulf though lower Louisiana.

Day 13 2010-02-03: Lower East Texas
Before hopping on the ferry we took the road out to the Texas Point National Wildlife Refuge. The road was in bad repair so we only got to about 100 yards of the end. Really tricky turning around. We then crossed the Galveston Ferry and headed east. On the way up to the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge we stopped at the Inter-coastal Waterway where were found some Ibis's.

A few of the birds seen below, complete set and larger sizes in gallery. Click here to view the gallery.
