11/19 Western Missouri (MOBL) (PRFA)

We were going to stop by Rocky Fork CA to find the Crossbills but it was raining in Columbia so instead I mentioned to Lois we'd stop to see the Mountain Bluebird as see hasn't seen it. From there we stopped at Smihville Lake north of KC then proceeded to Muskrat Lake just south of Saint Joseph, MO to find the reported Prairie Falcon, life bird. We found it early enough to reach Squaw Creek NWR before dark to hopefully find the reported Golden Eagle. Stayed in Mound City that night and continued looking the next day but didn't find it. Did find 19 Sandhill Cranes though. (See SCNWR photos in 11/20 blog post)
The Prairie Falcon is No. 320 on my "Bird Species Photographed in Missouri" list. See gallery here.
