9/28 Ruth and Paul Henning CA & Table Rock Dam Area

Day 5: Swing through western Missouri returning from ASM Meeting.

We arrived in Branson and stayed at the Fall Creek Inn for two nights. Tuesday morning we went to the boat ramp below the Table Rock Dam to see the Black Vultures. As we traveled across the dam an Osprey was spotted so we pulled into a viewing area on the north side of the dam. As I was visiting a flat rock in the woods Paul saw an Osprey carrying a fish pass over and an eagle trying to steal it. I got back just in time to get a few photos of the Osprey with a Brown Trout and the eagle. After that we went to the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area to look for Roadrunners in the glades, no luck.

A few of the birds seen, complete set and larger sizes in gallery.
