12/04 Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary

Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary

A rare, to this state, Red-necked Grebe visited Riverlands. Unfortunately it was way out there and very overcast. At least I got some documentary photos.

The Red-necked Grebe is my 310th "Bird Species Photographed in Missouri".

12/03 RUHU Franklin County Mo.

Rufous Hummingbird in Franklin County

At the end of September all of the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds have migrated through except for a rare late traveler. We leave the feeders up hoping to get a rare species to stop by. One did show up in the middle of the state and I was off to see it. Lanny Chambers also came to band and document it.

The Rufous Hummingbird is my 309th "Bird Species Photographed in Missouri".

I spotted a Golden Eagle through my scope twice but couldn't get my camera on it in time to get a photo. I have not photographed one in Missouri yet, rats.
